Homeless: London

A depressing picture but its one that can be seen regularly in the streets of London.

For a long time I've wanted to do a documentary about London's homeless community and finally I've set the wheels turning by contacting The Passage which is a charity based in Victoria providing support for the homeless.

I'm just waiting for a reply from them and hopefully I can start documenting the homeless with their charity as foundation to build from.

I'm really excited about this documentary because it's something which I've been thinking bout for a long time. Fingers crossed. I'll keep you in the know about what kind of progress we're making on this one!

Iain Woods Music Video

This is the little gem I promised you! Its a screen grab from a music video I'm editing at the moment. We shot it a few weeks ago in a secret location!

This still is from the raw files so we haven't done anything with it yet. We're planning to desaturate it all and throw in loads of effects for good measure.

You can have a little listen to some of Iain Woods music here! The track that the video is for is called 1994. its great as is all his other work!

When it's finished I'll give you the exclusive right here on the Black Jay Films blog!

That's todays blog done and dusted folks i'll be back tomorrow with some info on a documentary idea that I'm researching!

Shades Of The City

So i'm a little impatient and I couldn't wait until tomorrow to put my second post up and tell you about one of my projects called Shades of the City! Its a short film about a young girl who, after an argument with her parents, runs away from home. On her journey she encounters strange and wonderful people who communicate through dance.
The best thing about this project is I get to collaborate with one of the best up and coming choreographers in the business Leila McMillan.
Over the next couple of weeks I'll be cutting together a excerpt of Shades of the City for the Cloud Dance Festival! It's definitely worth checking out if you like dancing and watching films at the same time!
The full film should be finished at the end of the summer (roughly August time I reckon).
I'll give you another little gem tomorrow I promise, but for now its time to travel to the land of dreams.
